Is it worth me fixing a timing chain on a 2008
cadillac srx  are trade it in

this seems to be an issue reported for 3.6L SRX starting in '04. Unless you can get cadillac to do warranty work, you may be stuck either way. The '08 charger I recently rebuilt had a bad reputation for burning up rod and crank bearings. Chrysler engineering recommended only synthetic oil at regular change intervals for this issue. Basically, an oiling problem due to engine design considerations. Cadillac seems to be making a similar statement for this timing chain issue (insufficient oil volume or quality causing premature wear and stretching). An ironic statement since they (GM) are the DEXOS fanatics....
