Gonna replace engine in a 1998 chevy truck 5.7 vortec with 1984 chevy truck engine what do I do with the crank sensor wire

You will need to run the 84 engine with it's original ignition set up. You can't use the 98 ECU with an old engine. BTW - your truck will never pass smog inspection again.

I'm gonna swap the heads from the vortec to the 84 engine just need to know if I have to do anything with the crank sensor wire
