04 tahoe no start

Asked by Texas361361 Dec 18, 2018 at 02:34 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 04 Tahoe when I put my key in the ignition the key turns dash warning
lights like normal show but then when when I turn it to turn on nothing
happens. So I popped the hood n took out the starter relay n made a jumper
wire n it started right up why is that?

The relay most likely has a bunch of carbon build up inside. I would get another relay and give it another try. Good Luck!

Thank u Brain I went and bought a starter relay and at first it didn't start but only because it wasn't a good connection I squeezed the prongs together a little and it turned on right away...
