o2 sensor alarm

Asked by katmat Sep 18, 2016 at 07:40 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier

Question type: General

I have a 2004 cavalier. The check engine light comes on for a day or two and
then goes off for a day or two. The scan tool says it is a bad o2 sensor. When
I put the tool in live data mode the sensor has a reading of .1 to .9, which I
was told is a normal reading.  Any thougths on what the problem may be?

I did not see 4 digit code. Will hook the scan tool back up and see what the code is.

I hooked the scan tool back up and the code said P0130. However the check engine light had already gone off. Keeping the tool in the car so it the light comes back on I can check it again.
