cannot get gas into tank although it is not full

take a look under the car for the filler neck, it should run from the spout on the side of the car to the tank, look for kinks or other ways it could be pinched off. other then that it may be the tank vent, but its likely the filler neck, if the tank vent was clogged the car wouldn't run very good after a few seconds of being started.
