Battery ran down, and now I can't open the doors

Asked by Geting Apr 26, 2018 at 02:11 AM about the 2004 Hummer H2

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My battery died after a long cold winter (Sweden) and I have re-charged it, but
now I can't open the doors with either the fob or with the key. I can insert the
key, but it won't turn and I don't dare to put too much pressure on it.
How in the world do I get into my car?

Are you using the correct key? GM cars used to have a different key for the doors. Did you try some lock oil?

I only have one Hummer, so yes its the correct key. Even if the fob's battery has died (which I really can't tell), shouldn't I be able to use the key? Yup, I doused the key and the lock with lock oil.
