Range rover hse 2006

My range rover won't start, the engine immobilisation light is on, I'm using the
original key. I did replace the key fob cover, could it have something to do with
that? I checked the battery and its good, also removed the positive cable to
reset it but it still won't start.

Even if all that was replaced is the cover? All the insides are the original parts.

Thats fine but when you change the battery your resetting the chip inside key. It forgets the code. I actually bought a computer that reprograms the fob

I didn't change the battery. What is the cheapest way to reset the code? I called a locksmith and they said around $450.00.

the best way is to get AAA, once you join them it costs $150 for them to reprogram the key. The jext vest thing I would do is.. call around ro different locksmiths some of them come out to you and do it on the spot for $200. But since I'm a mechanic I bought the computer for $500 to reprogram it anyway

To join AAA its $60-100 depending on the plan you pick. Once you join wait atleast 24hrs before reporting issue
