blower on porsche 944

Asked by raybelly May 13, 2008 at 04:21 AM about the 1984 Porsche 944

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I turn on the fan or blower on my AC or heater it will only work at the number 4 position. 1, 2 or 3 won't work but 4 works great. Does anybody know the problem? Could it be in the relay? Or is it the motor? I would not think so it has to be a switch or relay. Any help would be appriciated? Thanks

It sounds to me like the dash controls (switch or rheostat) or the relay is going bad. I wouldn't think that the fan would be the problem since it works at "high".
