Question type: General

I have a '76 911S and someone asked me if I had one done to the car.  I didn't, but how can I tell if one is on there already?  And is it pretty important?
Thanks for you help.  PLBowler

Sorry I'm no expert on air cooled 911 motors... Place I buy parts from has this tech article though... http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/911_carrera_chain_tensioners/911_carrera_chain_tensioners2.htm

You would know if it was done. The previous owner would have made a point to tell you that he had it done.If the car is running well, leave it alone. If the car is not,or burning oil, then you will need to do it. The 1976 911S is one of the best years to own, they did not build alot of them. This car will only go up in value.Rich R.

You should see an oil hose coming from the back of each chain housing located on the back of the engine.
