Can my 1967 912 be upgraded with a Boxster 3.2 S auto engine and trans?

Anything can be done if you have enough money, but please don't desecrate this historic sports car.

I did a 3.2 conversion, not difficult, and upgraded the front suspension and brakes. I stripped the car down to the metal and it now looks like new, but drives much better. I don’t care what purists think, besides returning it to stock would be easy
