Is a 1/3 inch above the top hatch mark too much ATF?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I followed all of the directions to check transmission fluid. I drove the car for
10 miles, 20 minutes and parked it on level ground, went through all of the
gears for a few seconds each and let the car run for 5 minutes. I then
checked the transmission fluid while it was still running. The fluid was a
about a centimeter below the lowest hatch. Then added some transmission
fluid, a half of the bottle first and the fluid still didn't reach the top hatch, so I
added the other half. However, I still overfilled by a centimeter or between
1/3 and 1/2 inch of fluid. Is this bad?
