2007 subaru outback legacy sedan 2.5 auto what year motors are compatible with this car

Hi, the EJ25 Series engines were built and used from 1989 to 2012 in the Subaru Legacy and Outback models. Starting in 2010, the Legacy and Outback models offered a CVT transmission for the 2.5 Four engine. Prior to that, they had a four speed automatic. Hope that helps you. Also, starting in 2010, they used a new multi layered head gasket, but, there's kits for older cars. Are you just replacing the engine in your 2007, how many miles are on your car? And, just curious, what are the circumstances that brought you to need a new motor?

Be more careful: EJ25 blocks are universal, so if you want to reseal the block with YOUR heads any should do. If you want plug 'n play be more specific, as EGR systems and PZEV variations get a bit trickier. Did you throw a rod or have a loud one?

2007subi- why not just have your existing engine completely rebuilt?
