2005 Chevy equinox

I notice when I crank my steering wheel all the way in one direction, I hear a
werid noise.  I take it that my 2005 Chevy equinox doesn't have power steering
pump

You don't have hydraulic power steering. Yours is electric/electronic. Have you checked for trouble codes related to your steering? Some of the national brand auto stores will check po codes for free. I'm no good with noises.
