Is the reservoir supposed to have fluids in
it at all times?

Yes, all car reservoirs are supposed to have fluids. Coolant has a cold and hot level marks

it is the coolant reservoir, thank you all. It must be leaking somewhere but it isnt on the ground under the car but a few times. and never a lot, just a spot or two and never in the same spot. its weird. I am going to take it in and see what I can find out, thank you all again.

Make sure not to overfill otherwise it'll overflow and you'll always be seeing the poddle on floor. When cold, fill to the cold level mark.

thank you, I ask one of my friend's husbands and he said I should have the radiator check for pressure, since it isn't leaking all the time and it isn't overheating and the check engine light has not come on at all. My son in law noticed it was low when he changed my oil and added some to it and told me to keep an eye on it as he could not tell where it may be leaking. I just hope I can find a mechanic that will not take advantage of me being a single woman. thank you again, I am glad I found this site!
