I broke my key off in the trunk so had to get a new key for
my Pontiac G5 I did the programming steps for the new key
and my car still won't start what else can I do

if you mean you are try to programming a new key for your Pontiac G5,the best way it to check the procedures on your usermanual or you can try to take it to your local auto key locksmith to perform,some car owner will try to buy a key programmer for their cars to program keys http://www.uobdii.com/wholesale/auto-key-programmer/
