Malibu Oil Pan Gasket Replacement $900 !

My mechanic said it will cost $900 to replace the 4 gaskets on my oil pan.  He
said parts are cheap, but the labor would be about 8 hours.  It is dripping oil
on my driveway.  I do plan to shop around, but would like your opinion.  Does
it really take 8 hours ?
