Had my alternator replaced in a 2006 Chevy HHR, now it shifts hard and the check engine light is on. Please help!

One has nothing to do with the other or even your light coming on. maybe the shop took your car for a hard test drive and now they messed up your trans and that will cause your engine light to come on. Not saying that's the case but like i said , the alt. has nothing to do the transmission although if they connected the alt wrong or have the wrong one in there then that might get your light to go on,.. just guessing there though

Um!!! I had the same problem—- I had my alternator replaced on my 2006 hhr in 2019— a year — 2000 Kim’s later I had to have it replaced again — when I went to leave the shop——— the shifting in my transmission almost gave me whip lash as it shifted from first to second !!! The transmission clunks hard with each shift !!! It went in the shop with no transmission issues — came out of the shop with a shoddy transmission —— interesting someone else has the same proplem
