Can you put a 2010 colbalt engine in a 2006 colbalt

Asked by Feb 26, 2017 at 08:58 AM about the 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The 2006 is worth around $1000. Are you doing the work? You will easily spend at least 2-3k on installing another engine in the vehicle. I would find another vehicle to replace it. But try to find the same size engine and reuse what you can from yours. Are they compatible, do some research. In doing an engine swap it requires some automotive knowledge and not for the occasional DIYer.
