fuel pump failure?

what would cause both fuel pumps to fail at the same time on my 1989 pontiac 6000 ste awd? the mechanic said he hot wired the pumps and cannot get them to work. does the fuel pump relay break the hot side or the groundon this circuit? please help. info on this car is very hard to find.nobody in this area has ever heard of this car and say it does not exist.repair manuals at the parts store do not cover this model

Did you say ste awd from 89? Wow thats a rare car! Now there is only one fuel pump on your car .Second if they dont turn they might be just froze up (bearing i mean) . Should be an easy fix .take them apart and turn them manualy if it does not turn its done for trie apontiac dealers ship they might be able to oder it from some one.
