I have a 86 pontiac 6000 le will only run at high idle

I have replaced the fuel filter fuel pump working good and hard to start and will some times run
for a bit but will stall out and needs to sit for a bit before it will start again

I had a pontiac 6000 4 cyl with the same problem, it was the egr valve, I removed it and it was carboned open, just move it back and forth until it is free and reinstall it.
