We have the same vehicle. There are 2 "wires" about the same diameter coming from the distributor heading towards the coil pack area, crossing where the belt could have easily hit them. One is a heavy gauge wire ground wire, that attaches to the inner fender, but the other one is actually a 4-wire cable-with very thin wires inside it. The thin wires connect to the camshaft sensor inside the distributor. Its possible that when the belt went, the OTHER end of the 4-wire cable that connects the camshaft SENSOR, (which lives in the bottom of the distributor) may have been stressed just enough to break one of the wires inside the cable connecting to the sensor. Our distributor recently died (after 252k and 30 years) and it was that same sensor. Someone on ebay had a bunch of NEW old stock distributors for this engime listed cheaper than the cost of the sensor, so I bought one of those.
