Overfill motor oil

I put 5 qts.in my 86 nissan hardbody and it's too
much, should I take some out?

Yes you would want to take some out. I bet it takes 4.5 quarts to fill. Just going to have to pull the drain plug and let some out. You do not want to be over full because the engine will start pushing the oil out threw the seals.


Just remove and drain the oil filter and put it back on, becareful of the seal or you will have a leak, that should put you right about the full mark after you start it and check for leaks and then shut it down and recheck.
