1982 Volvo DL died suddenly...new car or is this fixable?

Just got this car about two weeks ago.  The engine looked great, only 240,000 miles, just an overall great car.  well last weekend i drove down to the bay area, it took about an hour and the car was fine the whole trip.  When i pulled off to find a place to park the car died suddenly.  Literally the engine just stopped and it died.  When we tried to start it up the engine wouldn't even turn.  is this the end?

Could be a number of things, my bet would be that the Camshaft timing belt has broken, if it has gone it is most likely to be an end of your car as the repair costs would be quite expensive and prove to be un-omical. Best to have it checked over by a professional mechanic.
