17" wheels fit?

I was trying to fit a set of 17x7.5" wheels 4 x100 with 225/45/17 tires on my 1988 vw cabriolet that a friend no longer needed.was wondering if they make spacers and lug nuts to fits these.what would i need.thanks

I am unsure of the availability of an adapter, however you need to remember that is NOT what the suspension, transmission and motor were designed for. I see lots of problems and a shorter life span for your car if you follow this course.
