Automatic trans for a 72 vow beetle

Have a 72 vw beetle Baja . Recently had a life changing accident that left me
paralyzed from the waist down. No longer able to drive 4 speed and would
like to install an automatic trans . Is this going to be more trouble than it's
worth or can it be done with out a lot of headaches .

Buying a car with the automatic would be the easiest way to go. Sorry to hear about your accident.
