AM i paying too much for this car.  Has broken mirror on drivers side, some rust on bumpers.

That is too much. Those cars are indeed valuable and will remain so, but that's a bit steep

I looked at some listings on several sites, and a mint condition goes for as much as $10k, but mostly in the $3 to $5k range, and the ones listed at $8, 9k have been there unsold for up to a year.
