Question type: General

I'm interested in a Baja Beetle for sale on the other side of town. I can't get in it to see if I fit and I
don't want to waste my time or the current owners. Will I be able to drive it as is? If not, would I
be able to relocate the driver's seat, or is it on a riser/seat support that I'd have to chop the floors
up to move? I'm 6'5" medium build.

Yes there is. My room mate was 6'5" & fit nicely into my stock '69 bug. He did fit even better into his '73 super beetle, though. I worked with a friend who owned a '67 bug & he is 6'7". Only the last year for lowback seats,'67, did they tilt back further than any other year. Back in the late 60's VW did a TV ad with Wilt Chamberlain trying to fit himself into a bug. He couldn't get in but the announcer said that,"...NBA star couldn't get in but maybe you're only 6' 8", which in that case you should fit nicely!"

usually it's not the height that gets you, it's your foot size!! the distance between the gas pedal and the brake pedal isn't very much. i can't wear work boots to drive, gotta drive barefoot!!
