VIN Numbers on VW's

Asked by GuruVWCTH Aug 10, 2018 at 10:00 AM about the 1965 Volkswagen Beetle

Question type: General

Is the VIN # on a 65 VW located on the chassis frame anywhere?...I have a
Dune Buggy with a VIN # inscribed/etched (not on a plate)into the frame behind
the driver's side by the front tire.....it maybe a legitimate number but was put
there by VW or whoever built the Dune Buggy?

Do you not have the title to it? Besides checking with the DMV like tennisshoes said, that's your only option.
