Installed new temp sensor next to thermostat and used teflon tape to seal threads.
Is the temp sensor grounded  via its threads ?  If so, I applied an insulator which
my interfere with grounding . The fan will turn ON if I disconnect the electrical 2
wires. Puzzled as to why delay in turning on fan . temp gauge soars on dash . New
sending unit, new radiator 2 years ago, filled reservoir , been burping system to
eliminate air to best of my ability .

never use teflon tape w/ sensors, you've eliminated the ground. after that, check yur fuses, then check your relays, maybe you should replace your thermostat aswell. vehicle speed sensors also affect fan operation , as well as the air conditioning ON signal.
