Our 1974 charger with a 440 Magnum is overheating. We have replaced the thermostat and water pump does anybody have any ideas as to why and what we can do to fix it?

Make sure the radiator is not blocked, heater core as well. Are you using a fan shroud with the correct fan?

I'll bet it's a 400 not a 440 . If the 5th digit of the vin # is a T or a U then it's a 440 . You didn't put the thermostat in upside down did you ? the spring side of thermostat should go into the water pump . 180 Degrees is the one you want not 190 like the specs say . Was the water you drained out of it before replacing the 'stat rusty or clean ? May need flushed . also check fan clutch , if you can wiggle the fan front to back it's time for a new clutch ...PBN
