Security code reset after buying used 2005 Mercedes M Class

I bought a used Mercedes and cannot access the Radio/Navigation system as it is asking for a 5-digit security code and I am unable to find it in any of the manuals.  How do I get the code so I can use the radio/navigation system/CD, etc.?

You can call MB customer service 18003676372...simply have your proof of ownership ready

i used the code #14423 and it worked . but now i cant figure pout how to get the volume to turnup

I put the wrong code in my radio 3 times now I think I am locket out if I get the right code how can I put it in now.
