May be you wiring to it instead of the sensor.
What wiring would that be
Mass Air Flow Sensor, May have shorts/loose connections ect to Its wire harness or wires to the computer or to the controlled systems it controls. MAF sensor is used in conjunction with an oxygen sensor, the engine's air/fuel ratio can be controlled very accurately. The MAF sensor provides the open-loop controller predicted air flow information (the measured air flow) to the ECU, and the oxygen sensor provides closed-loop feedback in order to make minor corrections to the predicted air mass. May be a short or ground problem or computer problem. Check all your wire harness you can for loose or broken.
The most common causes::-- - Dirty, obstructed or faulty mass air flow sensor (MAF) - Cracked, ripped or disconnected intake boot (snorkel) - Vacuum leaks (from stuck open PCV valve, leaking intake gaskets, etc.) - Clogged up or improperly installed air filter - The mass air flow sensor element contaminated by excess oil from an oil-soaked air filter - Clogged-up catalytic converter or restricted exhaust Other possible causes include: - Dirty throttle body - Bad or dirty manifold absolute pressure sensor (MAP) - Electrical problems with the MAF sensor connector or wiring - Stuck open EGR valve - Incorrect valve timing - faulty engine computer (ECM)
