01 v70 xc70 frequent dead battery only in cold weather

Asked by Amy Jan 22, 2016 at 10:48 AM about the 2001 Volvo V70

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We have a 2001 v70 xc70.   The car will start up just fine all summer long.
Zero problems.   As soon as it gets cold, battery is dead each time we try to
start  it up.   It will start pretty quickly with a jump start.  We have put a new
battery in it 2 times over the last 3 winters, with the last time being late last
winter.  At the first sign of cold temperatures this year it didn't start.   I have to
jump it, drive it to work, then jump it to drive home.
