My 2002 Volvo S80 has a maintenance code on
that says 'Bulb failure, position light'. What does
this mean?

You have a bulb out. Position? possibly shift indicator.

Check all your lights. Signals, headligts brakelights etc. Bet one of them is out. Someone will have to help you because thwey will need to be in the car applying brakes etc for you to ck outside.

There's a small light in the middle of the light housing that's called the position light.
