Question type: Maintenance & Repair

ok so heres the deal, was helping out a friend, the volvo dealer condemned her transmission without taking a good look at it they wanted 4800 to replace it, so i agreed to take a look at it. i found it had intake issues causing power loss and hard shift or no shift in high gears. i fixed that problem and it has been running great for a few weeks. however now it is shifting late only in low gears. the only code thrown was a small evep leak. (oh yeah also found and rplaced bad engine mount, which was real bad entire engine and trans was moving- causeing lots of noise and i assumed also shifting problem) does anyone have any ideas why it may be waiting to shift in low gears? it revs into high rpms before forcing the shift. although i could replace the transmission for half their price i'd rather not- if its not needed. its a 10hour job to get it out ! help me some one!!!!!!!

i had the same problem with mine (2001 S60)... and having spent around $3500 on other repairs in only 6 months i decided to get rid of the car. Didn't want to pay for a new tranny. Loved the car though. Was still making payments on it too... so it was getting pricey
