i recently purchased a 1990 vw cabriolet convertible, and cannot find the rear seat belts (male section). might they be under the seat....? cannot get under lower bench seat. Please advise, thanks!

Of course they are! The back seat bottom is secured with simple spring tension. Just push rearward on the front edge of the seat and lift upward. It should just hinge up and reveal not only the seat belt parts but tons of spare change and candy wrappers.
