I have a 1994 volkswagen jetta manual. The clutch is not out but most of the time the clutch pedal wont work and the car wont go into gear at all or sometimes it will half work

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

What I mean by it will half work is that the car will go into gear but the clutch wont
fully engage and the rpms will go real high and the car will only move slow and
then sometimes it will work just fine but while im driving I wont dare touch the
clutch and just let the gears slip in by them selves.

Its nothing to do with the Trans. Its the linkage. The Grommet's are worn, the clearance on the gears is finite. Install new Grommet's in the linkage and prob. GONE. Don't weight to do it, can cause immense damage to transaxle.
