Car stalling randomly

Asked by Jmac21 Mar 25, 2016 at 07:02 PM about the 1999 Volkswagen Jetta

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car will randomly die while driving. When it does
it seems to be starving for fuel or flooding. I
checked codes and I have 3. 1) main catalyst below
effenicny. 2) camshaft position sensor 3) MAF. Just
wondering what I need to look into first.

mmmm, check the voltages with a multi-meter...bet the input voltage is low...perhaps corrosion on the battery...check to make sure all connections are clean and the operating voltage to the ECU is full and correct...methinks it's getting brown power...because of the co-incidences...clean all connections and CLEAR The codes~

My 2005 jetta stalls while driving and when you try to turn it back on it takes a few minutes to turn back on and I’ve already took in it to the dealer twice and they’ve changed the speed sensor and some sensor on the caliber on the driver side. What else could cause it to turn off

My 2013 VW Jetta keeps stalling while driving. I took it to get a diagnostic and they come up with P0442, P0444, P0456, and P0864. I changed the purge valve but the problem is still there. What can I do to fix it and save me money?

My 04 Jetta started dying too. Does yours start right back up? But then continuously keep stalling? Mine seems to do it when it’s warm after driving a while.

Same brother, alternator's fine, battery's fine, but at the most random time the car stalls out after taking off, then it starts up and runs as if nothings wrong.
