CPU code from battery being dead for a year?
I just bought a 2001 new beetle from a friend with 97K on
it. They thought the starter went because it was hard to
start then just wouldn’t. We tested the battery and it was
toast. she had the car for seven years and didn’t change
the battery. After sitting for a year I put a new battery in
and it fired right up. I took it to an autozone type store to
have the check engine light read and it kicked back a
CPU code. The store told me that it could be due to not
having communication from the battery being dead for so
long and after so many key turns that would go away. I
haven’t been able to find anything regarding that online
does anyone know anything that might be able to help?
Thanks so much!
