Believe it or not, it's probably your ignition switch. If you have a ton of stuff hanging off your keychain, the constant pressure has been wearing away the insides of the switch. It would be the first thing I would try to swap. When the hi-beam switch is held back, a ground loop exists that lets the lights get voltage....it's weird.
