Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Coolant level is normal.  Engine oil level is normal.  Engine temperature is normal.  However engine seems hot and is knocking.

If its saying check coolant level yet coolant level is good it might be the sensor and the knocking ? how many miles does it have it might be the crank shaft getting old I have on my Jetta knocking as well and thats what it is

My 98 Passat did the same thing. It was the Coolant Temperature Sensor. A really easy fix, most people can get to it themselves with minimal tools. No idea about the knocking.
