Should the shore power cord be plugged in?

Asked by RGMac1950 May 04, 2020 at 05:20 PM about the 2003 Volkswagen EuroVan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When we are traveling or when the Rialta is in a dry camping spot, should the
shoreline be plugged in to the outlet in the rear compartment?

I would, also. But note that in our Eurovan 2002 Winnebago Campervan, being plugged in won't charge the main car battery, since I have original Magnetek unit still in there. It will keep charging the aux (coach) battery -- though there is some debate about how "smart" this unit is in terms of keeping the battery in good shape for long periods of non-use during STORAGE.
