What makes your oil cap smell like gas.i have a 2001 Saturn sl2.

Just changed oil week ago and checked oil today and almost a quart low and
the oil cap smells like gas.what will cause this

check and fill when engine has sat and is cooled down...also does the oil look or feel thin.....pull the dipstick..same color/thickness on the reading..smell gas there...???

Strong gas smell in the oil can indicate a leaking fuel injector.
