What can be the reason for my car to stay in park?..

I have a 2002 Saturn l-series, that will not come out
of park. The car will start up and when I move the
shifter from park to reverse or drive the car itself
will not move at all... What can be the cause & how
can I go about solving this problem?...

There is an interlock on the car and that can be no good, or in the tranny there are shift solenoids that may be bad, Also check your fluid level this will cause the car not to move.
