No start

2004 Mazda RX8 automatic no start was told car
needed new motor took plugs out car was flooded
clean plugs done deflooding car spins over but no
start if I spray starting fluid in throttle body it
sputters but still no start red light shaped like car
with key in it is on dash card it sit for a while before

The red light shaped like a car with the key is for the Immobilizer System, I have seen some come on if the engine is flooded. Try this procedure, turn the key on. Disconnect the battery. Hold your foot on the brake pedal for 1 min. With the key still on, reconnect the battery and start the vehicle. I hope this works.
