Boot lid relay 2.0 litre diesel.

Asked by Jan 08, 2018 at 08:35 AM about the 2005 Jaguar X-TYPE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My boot lid will not open using the key fob
or boot button. The solenoid moves the
latch very slightly,so power is getting to the
mechanism, but not enough to open it.
There is a clicking beneath the dashboard
on the right side, where I can expose
various relays, but I don't know which is the
boot release one,or how to replace it,if this
is in fact the cure.

the latch just might need to be cleaned and lubed, sounds like everything is work fine otherwise.
