I'm trying to find a speedometer for a 2001 GMC Savana van & everywhere I look online skips this year-why?

Not sure. It might be so similar to the neighboring years that there is no need for discrimination. Vehicles are often nearly identical for a few model years, only having changes like in-dash electronics, or wheels, etc. A speedometer should be the same for a 2000 or a 2002.

I would recommend looking at a salvage yard for that. You could save a ton of money.

call your local GMC or Chevy Dealer and ask the parts counter person What generation covers your vehicle. I believe the 2001 should be same for about 5 to 7 consecutive years. They will be able to answer you better.
