Question type: Maintenance & Repair

trying to solve the problem of slow fuel filling. cant use pump at all but can do a slow fill via gas can.  found a rubber hose on the rear of tank that goes to what feels like a plug in the rear middle of the tank that cap also has a hard line that moves along the rail toward the front.  the rubber hose has a hard plastic plug in it, thought there may have been a spider nest in that but since it has been plugged all these years i take it that it was meant to be, so now i am moving on to a bad evap cannister.

The evap canister isn't going to stop gasoline from entering the tank.

Try pulling the boot on the nozzle up and break the seal around the fill hole when you put gas in, until you figure out what is happening and get it fixed. Tenspeed is right, I agree that the canister will not prevent gas from going in to the tank but if the vapor recovery hose is obstructed that will cause the nozzle to click off

And no dash lights on? Have you ever passed an inspection with it like that?
