i am replacing the ecm on a 1999 ford van, and need to know does it have to be programmed by ford after i install or do i just plug in and go

not just dealerships. but u can find a locksmith that does auto. i am a locksmith and we do that type of work for customers and dealer ships.

we read that if you use a ecu from a van w/o PATS system and install it in in a f150 to delete the PATS system it could be done. all the keys and a shade tree mechanic has destroyed the PATS system on a F150 and we read that a van ecu would bypass and do away with the pats system. do we still have to tow vehicle to dealership to have it flashed
