How do I go from 2 Will Dr. to four-wheel-drive on a Ford super duty diesel

You don't need to be in neutral to go into 4hi but you do have to get out and lock your front hubs. 4 low you have to put the transmission into neutral then go into 4 low and still lock your hubs.

In the center of the front wheels there is a hub the sticks though the wheel. Put you fingers on the center piece and turn. You should see writing on the hub telling you which way to turn it. No problem.

The hubs are turned clockwise to lock them ('clock to lock') and counterclockwise to unlock them. The markings are worn off on many a hub assembly.
